Documentary Hosting

It's a Beautiful Day in Pinehurst.

A PBS North Carolina special, hosted by Dwayne Ballen, that premiered June 11, 2024.

The hour-long documentary travels through North Carolina's Sandhills to examine how Pinehurst became a world-renowned golf destination — its historic courses, its traditions and its Southern hospitality — told through interviews with key figures, golf professionals and local residents. It aired in the run-up to the U.S. Open returning to Pinehurst that summer.

It is the clearest evidence of what Dwayne brings to place-based cultural storytelling: a host who can carry an hour of documentary narrative, conduct the interviews inside it, and hold an editorial line from cold open to credits — well beyond the sports desk.
